Glass and Mirror Splashbacks Made to Measure

Majestic Glass measures, makes and installs glass and mirror splashbacks for Sydney kitchens, bathrooms and laundries. Every mirror splashback and glass panel is cut to fit your benchtop, power points and taps, so it sits flush with no gaps.

Our glass splashbacks Sydney service runs from the first measure to the final clean. We measure once your benchtops are in, make your panels to order, then fit them in a single visit, usually in a few hours..

Many of our customers are mid renovation, so we work around your kitchen maker or builder and fit the splashback as one of the final steps.

Glass and mirror both give you a smooth surface with no grout lines, so cleaning takes a wipe rather than a scrub. Glass gives you colour; mirror gives you light and depth, which makes it a good choice for smaller or darker kitchens.

No grout lines

One smooth surface with nowhere for grease or mould to collect.

Reflects light

Glass, and mirror in particular, bounces light around the room.

Any colour

Matched to your paint, cabinetry or a sample you bring us.

Few joins

Large panels mean fewer joins across your benchtop.

Our Services

We supply and install splashbacks for every room that needs one.

Splashbacks for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Laundries

Glass and mirror splashbacks work anywhere a wall needs protecting from water, steam or splashes.

Kitchens

behind cooktops, sinks and benchtops. A mirror splashback kitchen is a popular choice for galley and smaller kitchens because it makes the space feel larger.

Bathrooms

behind vanities and basins, where glass stands up well to steam.

Laundries

behind tubs and benches, for a surface that wipes clean.

Alfresco kitchens

behind outdoor benches and barbecues.

In a kitchen, the most common layout is a single panel behind the cooktop or a full run from benchtop to overhead cupboards. A full run gives the cleanest look; a cooktop panel is a smaller, lower cost option.

Planning a bathroom renovation? We also supply and install glass shower screens, so one team can handle all your bathroom glass.

Colours, Cutouts and Sizes

Every splashback is made to order, so you choose the colour, the finish and the layout

Colour matching

We match to Dulux colour charts, a paint chip or a sample of your cabinetry.

Cutouts

Power points, switches and taps are cut out at the factory to your exact measurements.

Sizes and joins

Single panels up to 3,000 x 1,200 mm. Longer runs are joined at a point you agree in advance.

Colour matching works best from a physical sample, because screens and printed charts show colours differently. Bring us a paint chip, a cupboard door offcut or a tile, and we will match the glass to it.

Choose a gloss or satin finish, and polished or arrissed edges. If your existing tiles are sound, we may be able to fit the new glass over them.

Mirror Splashback Finishes and Glass Options

Mirror splashbacks come in three main finishes: clear silver, tinted and antique. Each gives a different look, from bright and open to soft and aged.

Glass finish choices and applications
FinishLookBest for
Clear silver mirrorFull reflection, brightens the roomSmall or dark kitchens
Tinted mirror (bronze, grey or smoke)Softer, warmer or darker reflectionModern and dark cabinetry
Antique mirrorAged, veined effectFeature walls and classic kitchens
Back painted glassSolid colour, gloss or satinAny kitchen
Low iron back painted glassTruer whites and pale coloursWhite and light colour schemes

Our glass splashbacks are 6 mm toughened safety glass, painted on the back so the colour sits behind a smooth glass face. Standard glass has a slight green tint that shows through whites and pale colours, so we recommend low iron glass for those, because it is far clearer.

Our mirror splashbacks are toughened or safety-backed mirrors.

Not sure which finish suits your kitchen? We can show you samples of each mirror tint and glass colour so you can see them against your cabinetry and benchtop before you decide.

Behind a gas cooktop, we check the required clearance when we measure, following your cooktop manufacturer’s instructions and AS/NZS 5601.1

What They’re Saying

Glass and Mirror Splashback FAQs

Can you use a mirror as a splashback?

Yes. A mirror splashback works well behind sinks and benchtops and makes a kitchen look bigger and brighter. We use toughened or safety backed mirror; behind a cooktop, see the next question.

Toughened glass is made to handle normal kitchen heat, which is why we use it behind cooktops. Behind a gas cooktop, the clearance is set by the cooktop manufacturer and AS/NZS 5601.1, and we check it when we measure.

Wipe it with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water or a mild glass cleaner, then dry it. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which can damage the finish.

For grease behind a cooktop, a little dishwashing liquid in warm water works well. Dry the surface afterwards to avoid streaks.

Yes, if the tiles are flat, sound and firmly fixed. We check this when we measure.

A glass splashback in Sydney usually costs between ±$450 and ±$600 per square metre installed, depending on size, glass type, and the number of cutouts. Mirror splashbacks cost ±$500 to ±$750 per square metre. We give you a fixed written quote after we measure, so the price will not change on the day.

Wipe it with warm soapy water or a mild glass cleaner and a soft cloth, then dry it. Avoid abrasive pads, which can scratch the surface.

Yes, for many kitchens. A mirror splashback reflects light and makes the room feel larger; behind a gas cooktop, check clearances first.

Installation usually takes a few hours on site, about 5 to 7 working days after we measure once your benchtops are in.
